Astrocartography Lines & Their Meanings (Sun, Moon, Venus, Mars…)

Every planet on your map carries a different flavor of energy. Knowing what each line tends to bring is the fastest way to make sense of why some cities feel like a tailwind and others feel like wading upstream.

The planetary lines

The four angles change the tone

The same planet feels different depending on which angle the line sits on. A Venus ASC line shows up in how you carry yourself; a Venus DSC line shows up in who you fall for. Read the planet for the what and the angle (ASC, MC, DSC, IC) for the where in your life it lands.

How close is close enough?

A line’s influence is strongest right on top of it and fades with distance — roughly within a few hundred miles, though astrologers differ. A city sitting near a line crossing (two planets at once) is where things get really interesting, for better or worse.

The cleanest way to see all of this for a place you care about is to run a reading and let the map do the math.

Questions

Which astrocartography line is the best?

There’s no single best line — it depends what you want. Jupiter and Venus lines are the crowd favorites for opportunity and love, while a Saturn line, though demanding, is often where people do their most lasting growth.

What does it mean to live on a Venus line?

A Venus line tends to soften life in that place — relationships come more easily, you feel more attractive and at ease, and pleasure and beauty are more available. It’s widely favored for romance and creative work.
